Outfit Of The Day:

My boyfriend and I were somewhat matching this night out; shades of grey, black and my touch of creme.

I’ve always liked that we have similar styles, not just in what we wear, but our attitude and lifestyle as well. We’re a good fit and just get one another, it’s not easy to find but once you have it’s wonderful.

So it’s been a while since I’ve posted an outfit, this one was for a night out filled with beer, pool and Brits. My dress is by Wilfred for Aritzia, my jacket is a vintage find of 7.99$, and booties are just my go to pair of wedges that match everything and are super comfy.

Really simple outfit, it’s how you wear your clothes that makes it. Walk with confidence and you’ll rule the world

Last week I got my hands on yet another luxurious family hand-me-down from my grandma Winnie. This is a navy blue antelope suede jacket my grandmother picked up in Argentina in the late 70’s for 400$. I can’t imagine it’s worth now! My shoes are BCBG that I bought at Winners about six years ago! I’ve only ever worn them once, but I just love the deep colored velour, the over the top embellishment and the squared toe. The shoes were just made to be worn with this jacket, with a pair of big sunglasses it’s very “Breakfast At Tiffany’s” chic. I love it!

So as I’m packing to move across the world, my mum is finding all these absolutely amazing vintage gems of hers and her mothers to pass on to me. I’m literally in heaven!

These are her old French-designed, black, high-waisted, leather pants from the 80’s! She used to ride a motorcycle and ‘haaaaated’ the cheap plasticy feeling leather pants used for bikes, so she spent 300$ on these bad boys. I honestly feel like a rock n roll princess in them. I can’t believe she waited this long to share them!!! Oh well, mine now :)

I love everything about this one, the wool fedora by Wilfred for Aritzia, the dark grey moto leather jacket that was given to me for free(!), the black pants that were also free (I’ve got nice friends), but what really makes this one is my top. Boldly displaying ‘Drink Drank Drunk’ across the front like I have no shame, ironically this shirt only gets worn in a state of inebriation, whatever. It used to have sleeves until I decided I hated them and cut them off, mainly because it’s a size large, it was the last one so I took it anyway. Also because I like wearing a gold bangle above my elbow on my skinny little arm and sans sleeves it is much better showcased!

I have to say I felt like a total bad ass, Erin Wasson, MK&A, Miley, call me?

Outfit Of The Day:

Since living in Toronto for the last three-and-a-half years I have to say I haven’t done very much gardening, or hiking, or anything too down and dirty. It’s safe to say I became somewhat of a snob in the way that I don’t own a single pair of sweatpants, or a single ‘slobby’ t-shirt, or shoes I’m not afraid to get dirty. And to think I used to play soccer and mountain bike all through highschool?

Anyway, Grandma wanted some help in the garden and not having anything to wear I went on a bit of a hunt… Then I found my dads old (really old) Calvin Klein work pants that are faded and covered in paint so perfectly, you’d think someone did it on purpose. Ya, DIBS! Here I’m wearing them in a ‘down and dirty in the garden’ sort of way, but with a pair of sky high stilettos and a killer blazer they’d rock the fucking sidewalk. Stay posted, that photo to come in a weeks time.

Outfit Of The Day:

I’ve been channeling grunge/vintage/80’s inspired looks lately. Since being home (in Ottawa) I’ve been doing all of my shopping at secondhand and thrift stores. The further away you go from big cities the less picked over the store will be, and the better the finds. Last week I found a pair of black raw denim, high waisted Levi jeans that I had been searching for since last summer. PERFECTION! I turned those suckers into shorts and now they’re an ultimate necessity for my English summer in the UK! Paired with my lovely shorts is a graphic tee of two people walking hand in hand that my father acquired in his twenties. Keeping vintage in the family! And to add a pop of color and some cool flare I threw on my aqua blue suede moto jacket that my lovely boyfriend bought me two years ago.

This one got the fine folks of Ottawa, Ontario’s heads turning. I was also offered a job at my old place of employment, Aritzia (Ottawa store), how neat!

Hey!
I’m keeping it short and sweet, but I love this look so I have to share it. Lace tee from Urban Outfitters from like three years ago, I’ve never really liked it or haven’t known how to wear it until now, wardrobe gem for sure. Earring (singular) is also from Urban Outfitters, it’s pretty badass that it’s a cross and even more so that I only have one of them in, no biggie. My shoes are knockoffs of the Jeffery Campbell heels that I bought for one third of the price at Forever 21! I’m a bargain bitch versus a label whore, no shame. Lastly my AMAZING button-up light vintage denim Levi’s are from VALUE VILLAGE! One in Gatineau, Quebec because hipsters don’t live there and pick out all the good shit, that’s my job :)

ENJOY!
